What is the source of the magnesium citrate? What are the raw materials or ingredients contained in the magnesium citrate?
There are two ingredients; magnesium carbonate made from sea water and citric acid made from corn.
The two are blended together in a propietary blend.
When hot water is added, the two ingredients combine to make magnesium citrate.

How do I have to prepare Natural calm?
Natural Calm needs boiling hot water to activate it. Many people only use hot water, but the hotter, the better. The hot water activates the powder and puts the magnesium in an ionic form that enables almost 100% absorption (also called bioavailability).

I live in a place that is very hot. Do I have to drink it as a hot beverage?
No - put the Natural Calm powder in a cup and put one ounce of boiling water. After it finishes efflorescing (bubbling) then add cold water.

I don't like the taste, what can I do?

  1. Dissolve in one ounce of boiling water, add one ounce of cold water and chug it down fast.
  2. Make your calm drink and then throw in a tea bag to flavor it.
  3. Mix it with some juice.
  4. Add some flavour crystals to it.
  5. Buy a different flavor next time.

It works great and I need it to sleep every night. Can I develop a dependency on this product?
No - Natural Calm is a magnesium mineral. We have 4 main minerals called electrolytes; Calcium, Magnesium, Potassium and Sodium, that are essential for our bodies to exist. They are part of our food and you cannot get chemically dependent on a food.

Are there any side effects?
If you consume too much your stools will become loose. This is because the excess magnesium goes to the colon and causes it to hydrate. Most laxatives are made from a form of magnesium.

I don't seem to be able to take a teaspoon without having too loose stools, what can I do?
We have some customers who take 2 tablespoons at a time. They had to start out with a lower dose and slowly increase. The other thing you can do is break it up, ½ teaspoon in the morning and ½ before bed time. I take it every day and my health practitioner said I was still a bit low so I took 1 teaspoon 3 - 5 times and had no loose stool effect.

What quality measure or safe manufacturing standards do you adhere to?
We are putting in GMPs (good manufacturing practices) but have not fully complied with these at this point. We do regularly test our products for contaminates.

How much Grape Seed Extract is in the Liquid Organic Vitamins?
Less than 1/60th of the total ingredients allowing the Liquid Organic Vitamins to be considered Kosher.

Every time I use CALM my stools are loose. No matter the amount (pinch or spoonful). Is that what most people have using the product?
Some people (not many) just cannot use oral magnesium, no matter how it is introduced. Our magnesium oil and gel, which is absorbed through the skin, is an alternate choice.

If you use Magnesium Oil on a regular basis houw much Calcium do you need to take or eat to maintain the proper balance of these minerals? And, what form of calcium is best to take? Thank you.
Current research shows that we should have a 2:1 ratio for calcium to magnesium. Because we tend to get more calcium in our diets than magnesium Carol Dean, author of The Magnesium Miracle believes the optimum level is 1,000 mg of calcium and 600 mg of magnesium. Researcher Peter Gillham believes that because we tend to get more calcium in our diets and little magnesium that we should supplement with a 3:2 magnesium to calcium ratio. Our bones need a 2:1 calcium to magnesium but our brains and heart need less calcium and more magnesium to function. He suggested a ration of 3:2 (magnesium : calcium)

If your diet has a lot of calcium, and you take a calcium supplement, the supplement will rob you of your magnesium because calcium needs magnesium to be absorbed. If you get too much calcium, it will end up as calcium deposits in your joints and other parts of your body. If you get too much magnesium, it just gets eliminated though the colon in the form of too loose stools. So it is better to over supplement magnesium than calcium.

For calcium, we suggest our product Calm Plus Calcium. It has 3:2 ratio of calcium to magnesium. It also has vitamin D3, C, Boron and Potassium which are all necessary to absorb the calcium. Without the D3 and the Boron, your bones will not assimilate the calcium. I also believe that taking the oral magnesium with the oral calcium and other nutrients at the same time will assist the absorption.

I'm allergic to corn and anything derived from it. Is the magnesium citrate in the Natural Calm derived from corn? If not, from where is it derived?
The magnesium is derived from sea water. The other ingredient is citric acid that makes it magnesium citrate. The citric acid is made from corn and we have never had a person who is allergic to corn have a problem with it. We have seen people who have an allergy to citric acid it self.

I am wondering if I can mix kid's calm with juice instead of water. I think it would go down easier for him.
Yes you can mix it with your kid’s juice, but you have to activate it first.
Put the amount you normally use for your child (or as per instructions on the bottle) into a mug and then add 1oz boiling water, wait till the efflorescence stops and the powder has dissolved. Add this 1 oz of water to your child’s juice.

I am wondering if your Calm Plus calcium product is enough calcium for a woman in her early 50's
My personal opinion is that we get enough calcium in our diets. In order to absorb that calcium we need Magnesium and D3.
One female doctor, who buys our Natural Calm, but not our Calm Plus Calcium told me she believes that a calcium deficiency is really a D3 deficiency.
Your bones are 2:1 Calcium to magnesium ratio. Our foods have 30% less magnesium than 30 years ago. We don’t drink well anymore either.
Your brain and heart require more magnesium than calcium.
When you cook your greens, your magnesium goes in the water. Processed food don’t have much magnesium.
Calcium, on the other hand is more plentiful.
The countries that consume the most dairy, Finland being first and the US second, also have the highest incidence of Osteoporosis.

So we came up with Calm Plus Calcium which also has D3, Boron and Potassium for bone formation. 3:2 magnesium to calcium ration

We also have a product called CalMag which is a 2:1 ratio of Calcium to Magnesium for those who believe they need more calcium.
